Methacrylated polystyrene

BX-MTPS is a low molecular weight polystyrene resin with a single methacrylate ester end-group. This macromolecular monomer product is usually supplied in cyclohexane solution. However, it can be supplied in powder form, or dissolved in other monomers or solvents. Resin properties are those of polystyrene. Solution properties depend on the type and amount of monomer or solvent in which the resin product is dissolved. The key advantages: (i) Improves toughness while maintaining the thermoplastic nature of the end polymer (ii) Readily copolymerisable with many acrylates and acrylamides (iii) Soluble in a wide range of organic solvents (iv) In adhesive formulations it is known to increase shear strength with minimal effect
on peel strength. Average molecular weight: 12,000
